The way you would grow your Instagram account when you have 0 followers is different than when you have 50,000 or even 100,000 followers.
And I've been there, I've grown my account from 0 followers to a few hundred thousand.
But my strategy had to adjust as what works to get you your first 1000 followers won't work to get you your first 100,000.
